All-New Post Peel Skin Recovery System

If you’ve not heard of SKINACT – let us be the first to introduce you!

L+A and SKINACT at IECSC

We meet the team in Las Vegas at IECSC! L+A and SKINACT were co-sponsors of the IECSC Saturday night party at Sahara. We had a chance to get to know the team and learn about their business. They’re part of Spa & Equipment and have offices in the Los Angeles area and in Miami. They have a huge selection of equipment and skincare.

We invited them to stay in touch and let us know if they had anything interesting coming out.

SKINACT Launches All-New Collection

We were thrilled when they reached out in August giving us a sneak peak of their newest launch. SKINACT reached out and let us know that they were launching five new serums. We read about the serums and thought they sounded great, so we asked them how they recommended using them. When they told us how they recommend that estheticians use the serums – it really got us excited!

Cocktail Serums and Oxygen Activators for Post-Peel or Post-Needling Infusion

The team at SKINACT told us that they recommend cocktailing their new: Vitamin C Brightening, 4D Hyaluronic Acid, Collagen + Peptide Duo, Peptide Serum for Eye Contour,  and Advance Detox with their oxygen activators. They went on to say that they recommend estheticians use their Pro Airbrush Gun to infuse this cocktail into the skin. Then a lightbulb went off for us! With five serums and five oxygen activators at an esthetician’s disposal – they can mix and match so many different combinations and use them to infuse into the skin after:

Dermaplaning
Microdermabrasion
Chemical Peels
Microneedling
LED Light Therapy Treatments

The serums are also ideal for clients to use in their daily home care routine!

Jenni’s Review of SKINACTS Oxygen Infusion of Serums and Oxygen Activators

“It’s the cocktailing for me! I tested the Brightening Oxygen Activator with the 4D Hyaluronic Acid in the Pro Airbrush Gun. Upon the first try, I immediately realized one drop of serum is adequate; any more and the mixture will be too viscous to spray.  The Activator is very thin, so you can fill the majority of the dispenser cup with this, adding in your serum of choice.

The cocktail was applied immediately post-peel treatment; the cold, compress air felt calming to my skin.  We were able to do 2 full passes on the face and neck – my skin was damp, but welcomed the added hydration.  Once applied, we patted in the excess and allowed it to fully absorb.

I plan to utilize the serum as a post-treatment home care product! It is a thicker consistency, but leaves no residue on the skin, which I find with some HAs.  Fragrance free, this is a perfect addition to any skincare routine, and a great choice post-aggressive treatment.”

We’re Proud to Introduce The 5 SKINACT All-New Serums

Vitamin C Brightening Serum

The Vitamin C Brightening Serum is formulated with powerful ingredients that help to improve overall skin tone and reduce hyperpigmentation. Additionally, it helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and other signs of aging. With its lightweight, non-greasy formula, this serum quickly absorbs into the skin, providing all-day hydration.

We Asked About Vitamin C Complex + List of Peptides

SKINACT lists a “Vitamin C Complex for an Anti-Oxidant that Blocks formation of melanin.” We asked them “What is the name of Vitamin C and other ingredients in the “Vitamin C Complex?” Here’s what they told us, “It’s a combination of Ascorbyl Glucoside and Ascorbic Acid.”

Then they told us it had “Peptides for Anti-Aging wrinkle reduction.” So we asked, “Can you tell us the list of Peptides in the Vitamin C Brightening Serum? They quickly responded with the following, “Palmitoyl Tripeptide- 1 and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide- 7 (a.k.a. Matrixyl 3000)”. It also has Zinc PCA for sebum control and a Vitamin C booster.

Case Study Results

Their case studies show in 2 days up to 15.6% TEWL reduction. In 14 days up to 14.2% age spot size reduction. In 60 days up to 33% wrinkle appearance reduction and up to 13% increase In skin elasticity. In 90 days up to 14.2% age spot size reduction and up to 13.5% age spot contour contrast reduction.

SKINACT

Advance Detox Serum

The Advance Detox Serum is a gentle and effective exfoliator that helps to detoxify and regulate sebum production while preventing skin hyperpigmentation, making it great for acne-prone skin. It contains a blend of natural extracts and fruit enzyme to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells. Willow Bark Extract is for detox, and to encourage cellular renewal, it also fights acne-causing bacteria. A Vitamin C Complex inhibits the action of the tyrosinase enzyme and prevents the formation of blemishes. Tea Tree Oil is known to contain phytochemicals that fight bacteria and fungi causing acne.

We Asked How ZINC PCA Works

It also contains Zinc PCA that SKINACT lists as good for sebum control and a Vitamin C booster.  We reached out to SKINACT and asked them how ZINC PCA boosts Vitamin C. Here’s their response, “Zinc PCA exhibits an additional property: when applied to skin cells, it progressively boosts the expression of SVCT2 (sodium-dependent vitamin C transporter 2). Consequently, the use of zinc PCA increases the availability of Vitamin C transporters, addressing certain challenges related to the transport of ascorbic acid into the skin cells.”

Case Study Results

They claim to have case study results showing up to 15.6% TEWL reduction in 2 days and up to 16% moisture increase in 60 days. They claim in 14 days there is up to 14.2% dark spot size reduction. They also claim up to 25% increase in cellular renewal!

SKINACT

4D Hyaluronic Acid Serum

The 4D Hyaluronic Acid Serum is formulated with four types of active hyaluronic acid and derivatives, as well as Matrixyl 3000 Peptides, to provide intense hydration and elasticity for your skin. The peptides work to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, while the HA helps to plump and moisturize your skin. With regular use, you’ll see a noticeable improvement in the overall look and feel of your skin.

We Asked About Derivatives

Their literature showed this serum contained, ”Hyaluronic Acid and Derivatives”. We asked them to expand on the derivatives. Here’s what they said, “Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate is a modified form of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin known for its exceptional ability to attract and retain moisture. In skincare products, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate is created by acetylating hyaluronic acid, which involves adding acetyl groups to its molecular structure.

This modification enhances its water-binding capacity and makes it even more effective at keeping the skin hydrated. It forms a thin, protective film on the skin’s surface, helping to lock in moisture, reduce water loss, and promote a smoother and plumper complexion. Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate is often used in skincare formulations for its ability to provide deep hydration, improve skin texture, and contribute to a healthier and more youthful appearance.

Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate is another variant of hyaluronic acid that has undergone a process called hydrolysis. During hydrolysis, the large hyaluronic acid molecules are broken down into smaller fragments, which are typically more easily absorbed by the skin.

This smaller molecular size allows Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate to penetrate deeper into the skin, delivering hydration to multiple layers. It has the same fundamental benefits as regular hyaluronic acid, such as moisture retention and skin plumping, but its smaller size enhances its ability to provide hydration more effectively. This ingredient is often incorporated into skincare products, including serums and creams, to offer intense and long-lasting hydration, helping to address dryness, fine lines, and overall skin health.

Both Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate and Hydrolyzed Sodium Hyaluronate are valuable ingredients in skincare, known for their hydrating properties and their role in promoting smoother, more supple, and youthful-looking skin.

Case Study

They have a case study showing up to 15.6% moisture retention in 2 days and up to 16% moisture increase in 60 days and up to 32.9% wrinkle appearance reduction.

SKINACT

Collagen + Peptide Duo

The Collagen + Peptide Duo helps to reduce wrinkles and dryness, while also providing essential hydration for your skin. It is perfect for those with dry skin, as it helps to keep skin hydrated and looking its best. Improve overall skin health thanks to its collagen and peptide duo content.

This serum has Soluble Collagen, Collagen Amino Acids, Matrixes 3000, Hyaluronic Acid Complex, and Hydrolyzed Collagen.

We Asked About Amino Acids and Hyaluronic Acid Complex

We asked, “Can you list the amino acids? Here’s the list:

Alanine
Arginine
Aspartic Acid
Glutamic Acid
Glycine
Histidine
Hydroxylysine
Hydroxyproline
Isoleucine
Leucine
Lysine
Methionine
Phenylalanine
Proline
Serine
Threonine
Tyrosine
Valine

We also asked them to showcase what’s in their Hyaluronic Acid Complex. Here’s what they told us.

“Composed of three molecular weight of hyaluronic acid: 0.1% of low (50-130 kDA), middle (300-800 kDa), and high (2,000 kDa) MW HA:

  1. High Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid: This type of hyaluronic acid has larger molecules, which form a film on the skin’s surface. It primarily acts as a hydrating and moisturizing agent, helping to retain water on the outermost layer of the skin. This creates a plumping effect, smoothing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and providing a barrier against moisture loss.
  2. Medium Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid: These molecules are smaller than high molecular weight HA but larger than low molecular weight HA. Medium-weight hyaluronic acid penetrates the skin more effectively than high molecular weight HA. It offers hydration to the deeper layers of the skin, helping to maintain skin moisture and improve overall skin texture.
  3. Low Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid: This form of hyaluronic acid consists of the smallest molecules. It can penetrate deep into the skin, reaching the dermis, where it can help stimulate collagen production, promote skin repair, and offer longer-lasting hydration. Low molecular weight HA is often used for its potential to improve skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.”

Clinically Tested

SKINACT says this serum has been clinically tested to show up to 33% overall wrinkle appearance reduction in 60 Days and up to 51% instant wrinkle reduction.
