How All-New Serum Breathes New Life Into All Skin Types

Serum 71 is an immune-boosting, nutrient-rich formulation with a powerful trio of tranexamic, mandelic, and azelaic acids. Also included is a second-generation Beta Glucan and Neodermyl—the next-generation copper peptide that helps build back collagen and elastin better than ever before.

Serum 71, the all-new powerhouse serum from Circadia is so many things! It’s one of three new products that Circadia launched at the IECSC New York 2023 event! In addition to Serum 71, they launched two all-new treatment masks! The Charcoal Milk Clarifying Mask and Circadian Time Balancing Mask!

Serum 71 pays an homage to Circadia Founder, Dr. Peter Pugliese who, in 1971 joined the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, a move that would change the trajectory of his career and ultimately the professional skincare industry.

Dr. Pugliese did the initial clinical studies on the first ever commercially available peptide for cosmetic use in the 1980s. This groundbreaking research led to the expansion of peptides used in personal care products worldwide. In his studies, he discovered that copper assists in fibroblast activity and works as an antioxidant by preventing free radical damage.

In addition to his pioneering research on the copper peptide, Dr. Pugliese conducted the original penetration tests of Beta Glucan on the skin in the late 80s, paving the way for cosmetic formulators today.

Serum 71 Does For Skin What Dr. Pugliese Did For The Skincare Industry

In very much the same way that Dr. Pugliese improved the standards of the entire industry with his research, the all-new Circadia Serum 71 will improve the appearance in virtually all skin types. Serum 71 is a powerful serum packed with potent ingredients, designed to deliver brightening, lightening, and tightening effects for all skin types. Named after the year Dr. Pugliese joined the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, and in tribute to his immense contributions throughout his career as a chemist, Serum 71 is innovative for our time while honoring the rich history and work that went into creating it. This Powerhouse Ingredient List is how Serum 71 offers a nod to the past while keeping an eye on the future.

Barry + Jenni

Review Serum 71

Barry combined Serum 71 with some of his favorite Circadia products to create a mini at-home treatment – he even incorporated some microcurrent to boost the power of Serum 71..

“First I did a double cleanse with the Vitamin Veil Cleanser, followed by the Micro-Exfoliating Honey Cleanser. Then I applied the Serum 71, which is a very light-weight clear serum that has an incredible glide! I applied a generous amount of Serum 71 and used a microcurrent device on my skin to help boost the penetration of all the powerhouse ingredients! It absorbed nicely and my skin loved it! I followed with Vitamin C Reversal Serum and finished with AquaPorin Hydrating Cream.  My skin was glowing and very, very happy!”  Barry Eichner

Jenni took the insider-tip learned at the IECSC Booth, and used the Serum 71 underneath a treatment mask.

After the all-new Charcoal Milk Clarifying Mask was applied, activated, and massaged in, I removed to reveal plump and hydrated skin. I wanted to check out the second new launch, the Circadian Time Balancing Mask with Malachite. First, I applied a thin layer of the Serum 71 – which glides on beautifully with no tingling (even after a good exfoliation!).”

“I then layered the Circadian Time Balancing Mask with Malachite on top of the serum and allowed it to penetrate for about 10 minutes. My skin felt revived and amazing for the rest of the weekend!”

Serum 71 Powerhouse Ingredient List

Let’s explore the ingredient deck of Circadia’s Serum 71.

Neodermyl® +  Methyl Glucoside Phosphate Proline Lysine Copper Complex

We did some research and found that Neodermyl is called, “Needle-Free Collagen and Elastin Filler’….”  And “…Revitalizes aged fibroblasts, and reactivates collagen I, III and elastin synthesis.” (ivaudan.com)

Circadia is able to deliver the benefits of copper through Neodermyl which has an advanced delivery system that eliminates the sometimes-irritating issues seen with copper, making a great ingredient even better.

Trio Of Acids [Tranexamic, Mandelic + Azelaic Acid]

This trio of acids works on all skin types. The combination of hydroquinone-like brightening action, tyrosinase inhibitors, anti-inflammatory and resurfacing properties make this trio of acids incredibly therapeutic to the skin. When they’re combined with the other key ingredients in Serum 71, the skin is improved on so many levels.

Tranexamic Acid

“It treats hyperpigmentation like hydroquinone, but it also improves the skin’s barrier function without the irritation and potential cytocell toxicity of hydroquinone. It inhibits tyrosinase activity and will help lighten and brighten the skin.” (Circadia.com)

Azelaic Acid

“Azelaic acid can counter or neutralize free radicals that cause inflammation. It has significant skin-calming effects and helps to improve redness. Evens skin tone. It decreases pigmentation, inhibiting an enzyme called tyrosinase that leads to hyperpigmentation, or dark patches of skin.” (BannerHealth.com)

Mandelic Acid

“Mandelic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that is used to exfoliate the skin. It’s used to treat acne, hyperpigmentation, and aging skin. Mandelic acid is used in over-the-counter skincare products and in professional chemical peels.” (Verywellheatlh.com)

Beta Glucans

When dealing with any skin situation – when the skin is at optimal health, it will function at optimal levels. The calming, soothing, and balancing impact of Beta Glucans gives the skin the ability to keep itself healthy.

Beta Glucans are nature’s powerful medicine as they aid in wound healing and help fight infection. In skin care formulations, they will soothe irritated skin and rebalance the skin’s immune system.

Circadia Launches Two New Professional Treatment Masks

Along with the launch of Serum 71, Circadia’s two new treatment masks for estheticians to use in their treatment rooms are showing incredible results! We were in Las Vegas for the launch of their Marshmallow Whip Hydrating Mask, so we were thrilled to be in New York at the IECSC to be the first to check out their most recent masks!

L+A was one of the first to try the Charcoal Milk Clarifying Mask on the skin, as our L+A Content Creator, Tammie had it used during a product demonstration at their booth. We’ll have more on these incredible treatment masks over the next few months, so stay tuned!
