Lana Ivanov has been a skin care professional for fifteen years and has owned Advanced Aesthetics Medispa for six years. Advanced Aesthetics Medispa offers facials, chemical peels, and nail services, however, it is a bridge practice, which allows Lana to offer her clients a more advanced skin care treatment plan.
What is a Bridge Practice
Over the past five years, as L+A has been working out in the field with skin care professionals, we’ve seen a phenomenon happening.
L+A has talked with many estheticians who love advanced clinical skin care. The estheticians wanted to be able to do more services that were outside of their scope of practice. In order to grow their business, they obtained advanced certifications and obtained a medical director for their practice who would provide them guidance and direction on offering more advanced treatments.
L+A has coined the phrase “Bridge Practice”. A bridge practice is a new form of skin care business in which an esthetician owns the business but has obtained a medical director. Having the medical director then allows the esthetician to gain access to physician-only cosmeceutical brands. It also in some cases allows the esthetician to perform microneedling, laser, and other more advanced treatments. One of the biggest benefits is that it provides the esthetician the ability to refer to their medical director for injectable treatments.

How Lana Incorporates EpiPin into MediSpa Bridge Practice
“From the beginning of my aesthetic career I was very creative and started to perform customized facial treatments so after a year or so I became very successful and popular in my area for very advanced techniques and fast amazing results that my clients were getting.
When I started fifteen years ago I didn’t own super fancy equipment but I started with dermasound deep cleaning, microcurrent, chemical peels, and all of my treatments were ninety minutes long, so I would have time to do everything. I still do ninety-minute treatments because now that’s what my clients expect, and of course, they want to look after like they just have had a facelift. Only now I have much better equipment, when it comes to what’s more popular it’s separated into 2 categories: Invasive and noninvasive.
I combine treatments in my treatment room and provide very advanced treatments to my clients. I combine EpiPin with Dermothecnology or BellaNova depending on the skin type or condition that I’m treating. I end the treatment by adding LED Light Therapy for twenty minutes.
I also use Lactic with Green Tea or Mandelic Chemical peel with EpiPin for best results. I can do microdermabrasion and then EpiPin treatment and finish with LED Light Therapy.” Lana
L+A Interview with Lana About EpiPin In Her Bridge Practice
L+A is so grateful to EpiPin for introducing us to Lana. When we looked at her business, we saw the ideal example of a bridge practice and we’re thrilled to be able to share how the remarkable, non-invasive EpiPin works perfectly in this setting. Lana shows us how the EpiPin’s needle-free needling is a perfect adjunct device in a multi-device treatment.
We had so many questions for Lana, so you can review our Q+A with her below:
Q:
How are you incorporating The EpiPin into your practice?
A:
When I introduced the new service to my clients and told them it’s microneedles that will dissolve into their skin, at first they were a little nervous but everyone trusted me completely that if I liked this device and I bought it that meant I approved it and it’s good. So from the beginning when clients felt comfortable and saw great benefits and they saw what this new treatment did for their skin they absolutely loved it. I am using EpiPin every day. It’s easy, and it’s good for all skin types which makes my job easier without worry. Everyone leaves plump, glowing, relaxed, and happy.
Q:
What are your clients saying about the results of the treatment?
A:
At the end of the facial they look at themselves and like oh my goodness is it really my skin?! I don’t see pores or that annoying wrinkle that was on my forehead or my crow’s feet. So next time they come back they say can we do that machine again?
Q:
What would you say to a medical / spa skin care professional who is considering purchasing EpiPin?
A:
I say go for it. It’s a great device for any spa and for any esthetician, Whether it’s medical or not this service is very customizable and provides amazing results. Clients will absolutely love it, providers will be very happy with the service, and the income that will bring them. The device is super affordable and it’s a low cost to maintain inventory.
Q:
How did you find EpiPin?

Q:
