A California Girl’s Favorite Home Skin Resurfacing Tools
Home skin resurfacing tools can be really aggressive, but this California-based esthetician opts for super gentle over aggressive.
In California we can not get too crazy in the treatment room, I tend to also not have my clients get crazy at home with their resurfacing products. Although, there are many great products out there that can really get “down to the bone and make it burn”, I keep it simple yet effective with little to no downtime for my clients so they can get back to their lives as soon as possible.

MYSKINBUDDY
MYSKINBUDDY is an amazing little powerhouse tool that not only helps to exfoliate those dead skin cells with its 8000 + ultrasonic vibrations but also helps with inflammation as the red LED turns on in the first setting, then we have the warmth of the machine helping to break down oil, dirt, and makeup, the warmth has also been proven to tighten skin and promote oxygen to the cells, I personally use it in the treatment room as well as at home.
Hale & Hush’s Rare Retinal
Rare Retinal by Hale & Hush is a zero-downtime alternative to Vitamin A with all the benefits! A nighttime serum to help fight glycation, improve overall smoothness and appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as brightens. This serum also helps to promote detoxification and self-restoration. To be used 2-3 times a week until skin becomes resilient enough for alternating nights to nightly use.
Circadia Micro-Exfoliating Honey Cleanser
The Micro-Exfoliating Honey Cleanser is a yummy alternative to harsh crushed apricot seeds (or other fruit seeds) that can leave micro-tears in the skin. This beeswax is soft and made to absorb oil to help clients feel fresh and clean without feeling like they just had a sandblasting done and gentle enough to be used daily.
Nature Pure’s Microdermabrasion Holistic Cream
The Microdermabrasion Holistic Cream by Nature Pure Clinical Skincare is a great exfoliate with a blend of Ecoscrub, Jojoba Beads, and Pumice Powder and a bonus of Cannabis Sativa to not only help slough off the dead skin cells but also delivers antioxidants to the skin at the same time! Once a week is perfect for this cream and it can even be mixed into a gel cleanser if you like on the second cleanse.
My Dermatician Sonic Cleansing Brush
The Sonic Cleansing Brushes are a great way to help clients get their skin smoother, softer, clearer with ultrasonic vibrations (three to four settings, depending on which device you own) in a silicone material that will not scrape or scratch the skin. These brushes help to remove oil, dirt, and keratinized cells for an easy in-shower experience, some have bigger silicone bristles for the body.
