Ania Botero, CEO of SculptICE shares her knowledge of fat.
If you are looking to lose weight, you are probably familiar with: eat less and better and workout more to promote weight loss. Those are great to keep our body and mind to function at its best, however shivering triggers the same fat-burning hormone than exercise, so you might consider getting comfortable with the cold. Diverse studies had found that just 20 minutes of shivering might provide similar fat-burning benefits as a full hour of moderate exercise.
Now, let’s start with the basic: Not all FAT is created equal.
There are two different types of fat: subcutaneous fat; which is the fat you can pinch or squeeze on your arms, belly, thighs, and buttocks (found just under your skin) and visceral fat; is fat that lies deep within your abdominal organs and cannot be seen from the outside.
Subcutaneous fat it’s a combination of brown, beige, and white fat cells.
Some subcutaneous fat is good for your body but too much can lead to serious health problems.

Ania Botero Explains The 3 Different Types Of Fat
The main types of fat cells are white, brown, and beige cells.
Fat cells are stored under the skin or around the organs in the belly, arms, buttocks, and thighs. These fat cells are the body’s way of storing energy for later use, however too much white fat can be harmful.
This type of fat is primarily found in babies, as adults we retain a very small amount of brown fat usually in the neck and shoulders. This type of fat burns fatty acids to keep you warm; so basically regulates your body temperature in cold conditions.
A combination of brown and white fat cells. Similarly to brown fat, beige cells can help burn fat rather than store it. When stressed, exposed to cold, or when you exercise it’s believed that certain hormones are released and can help you convert white fat into beige fat.

SculptICE® triggers “thermogenesis” which is the natural process of the body to burn calories and “burn” fat. The science behind fat freezing is based on the finding that fat cells are more susceptible to damage from cold temperatures than other cells; such as skin cells. Cold temperature injures the fat cells and the injury triggers an inflammatory response by the body, which results in the death of the fat cells, which makes them crystalize, or freeze. This causes the fat cells to begin a process known as apoptosis which means: cell death.
If you’ve struggled to change your body through diet and exercise, don’t give up! SculptICE® is a wonderful option to reduce unwanted fat.
