2025 Trends in Medical + Spa Skincare From IMCAS Paris

IMCAS Paris 2025 was incredible, with a totally sold-out event bringing 20,000 attendees from 180 counties. Truly a global skincare event. Jenni Nagle, Barry Eichner, and Dr. Chantal Lunderville attended the conference to get a glimpse into the global skincare market to see what we can expect for the next year. Dr. Lunderville wrote a medical full review of IMCAS 2025.

There were hundreds of educational presentations at IMCAS Paris 2025. L+A was thrilled to see our very own medical contributors, Dr. Vincent Wong and Dr. Alberto Leguina on the list of educators.

There were over 370 exhibitors at IMCAS Paris 2025, imagine our surprise when we found some of L+A’s Favorite Brands Exhibiting at IMCAS:

M.A.D Skincare, BioSkin Aesthetic, Dermalogica PRO, and Canfield Scientific

The IMCAS Review of 2024 in Medicine + Spa Skincare

IMCAS saw a rise in patients seeking aesthetic dermatology treatments. Specifically, they saw a 15% increase in the number of French women who have sought aesthetic dermatology, representing a 5-point increase in aesthetic dermatology in the past 6 years. These women cited their motivation to improve self-confidence, self-care, preventing signs of aging, and correcting perceived flaws. These women have sought out dermatologists and estheticians. They selected their practitioner based on reputation, specialization and proximity.

IMCAS indicated that 2024 was the year of regenerative medicine. They indicated that in 2024 the industry hot topics were gene therapy, cell therapy, biostimulators and the GLP-1 revolution. IMCAS indicated there was a more natural use of dermal fillers, along with more botulinum toxins entering the market. There were also a lot of Indie brands pursuing new business models.

2024 Challenges

IMCAS indicated that the industry saw challenges with adapting to shifts in patient and consumer preferences. There were also challenges in adapting to new shopping channels and consumer habits.

IMCAS Medical + Spa Industry Trends for 2025

IMCAS is calling 2025 “The Year Of Wellness”. We loved when they indicated that regenerative medicine will become mainstream. IMCAS is looking for the industry to see broader product options. Topical botulinum toxin will enter phase III! Look for broader use of injectables, fillers and biostimulators. The U.S will see new HA injectables, while liquid toxins will be made widely available. We will see new minimally invasive procedures for emerging needs.

Practitioners will see new patient demands as the consumer becomes more educated and informed from a broader use of social media. IMCAS says that we can expect to see maturing provider skills. New industry strategies will require new business models causing a reshuffling of aesthetic medicine market actors. If you recall, L+A has been talking about the U.S. phenomenon known as “The Bridge Practice”, where an esthetician or nurse contracts a physician as a medical director to gain access to medical skincare brands and devices.

IMCAS is stating there will be a rise in evidence based beauty bringing beauty closer to medicine! Take a look at the 2025 L+A Report:  Medi-Beauty Trends for Post Procedure

One of the 2025 trends that we thought was astounding was that IMCAS is predicting wellness drugs may outpace disease treatment drugs to become the largest drugs in the world. We will see better clarity on the health effects of GLP-1 medications.

IMCAS stated that medical + spa skincare professionals will start to see digital tools converge with in-person treatments. AI and automation will improve document extraction and help unlock insights from images, records, and genomics. We will see automation drive personalized medicine and combination treatments. AI and new Apps will accelerate productivity.

Dr. Chantal Lunderville on IMCAS Paris 2025

IMCAS Paris was a whirlwind of innovation, science, and aesthetics, bringing together over 20,000 attendees, 370 exhibitors, and doctors from more than 180 countries. The Congress focused on dermatology and plastic surgery-based aesthetics, showcasing the latest trends in skincare, devices, injectables, and weight loss.

L+A’s Jenni + Barry Spent 3 Days Trend Spotting

Jenni + Barry spent 3 days roaming through three floors of the Palais des Congrès in Paris. Their assignment – “review over 370 exhibitors to refine L+A’s list of medical + spa skincare trends for 2025”. It takes a lot of walking, a keen eye, the ability to navigate 20,000 other attendees, and a lot of water and coffee!

L+A’s Top 3 Medical + Spa Skincare Trends for 2025

Exosomes

Exosomes were everywhere – LITERALLY – everywhere! Every single row on every single floor had an exhibitor that was showcasing their exosome technology! We were thrilled to see L+A Sponsor Dermalogica PRO at IMCAS showcasing their Exo-Booster. You may recall that L+A helped Dermalogica PRO launch their Exo-Booster in January 2025!

Injectables

The hottest area of growth globally! Neurotoxins, Fillers, and Skin Boosters. This sector of our industry is on fire and it’s not showing any signs of stopping. In fact, the U.S. market is going to see more and more! The category of skin boosters is huge in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, yet is not nearly as popular in the U.S. “…skin boosters infused with ingredients like amino acids, PDRN, vitamins, and minerals—blurring the line between injectables and skincare.” Dr. Chantal Lunderville.

Devices

Lasers, Needles, and Ultrasound! The incorporation of device technology into a medical + spa skincare business is no longer optional. If you’re going to be respected in the industry, you need to incorporate device technology!

Jenni + Barry were thrilled to chat with the team at Aerolase, we’re looking forward to connecting with them at IECSC NYC in March 2025! The L+A team chatted with Dr. Vincent Wong who does intestine work with INMODE. Dr Lunderville had a contact at Sofwave. L+A had the opportunity to chat with their global team and look forward to learning more about their technology.

Barry was very excited about connecting with Sciton and learning more about their HALO device. Sciton’s world-famous hybrid fractional laser for glowing, healthy skin.

Candela was present at IMCAS as was DPDerm, who you may recall featured their microneedling device on L+A in 2023.

L+A Brands Spotted At IMCAS

M.A.D Skincare

L+A saw M.A.D Skincare at IMCAS Paris 2025! L+A was invited to attend one of their two classes led by Dr. Alberto Leguina speaking on the launch of CARBONETIX! This treatment brings new life to a time-honored and highly effective skincare modality.

Dermalogica PRO

L+A took some time out of IMCAS Paris 2025 to sit down with Louis Chabert, Senior Director – Global Innovation for Dermalogica PRO. He was at IMCAS showcasing their newly launched Exo Booster. Louis had a lot of exciting news for us about upcoming launches for Dermalogica PRO – keep your eyes on this brand this year!

Barry was in London prior to IMCAS and met with Dr Vincnet Wong to experience the Exo Booster. You may recall that Dr Wong was one of the Panelists for the Dermalogica PRO Webinar for the launch of Exo Booster, so Barry wanted to go directly to the source! Barry received a Morpheus8 treatment followed by Exo-Booster! “My skin rebounded in ONE DAY from the Morpheus8 treatment! Dr Wong did an incredible job!” Barry Eichner

BioSkin Aesthetics + CMed

BioSkin Aesthetics was at IMCAS with their parent company CMed, the manufacturer of BioRePeelCl3. CMed also launched an all-new skin booster called BioReFeel at IMCAS. Barry + Jenni were honored to be invited as the only U.S. Media to cover the BioReFeel launch party at Madame Brasserie on The Eiffel Tower.

L+A was also the guest of BioSkin Aesthetic and CMed for a three-day visit to Pisa Italy for a tour of their manufacturing headquarters!

Canfield Scientific shows off GAME CHANGER Imaging System

The whole L+A team met with the U.S. team of Canfield Scientific and were given a private preview of their all-new NEXA LT. This is a game-changing imaging system! This is the tablet version of their flagship product VISIA!  U.S. medical and spa skincare professionals can look forward to a much lower price point, iPad technology, a much smaller footprint, and an ease of use that you will not believe!
