lOk, Back To Dad!

Father’s Day always ended up being the 2nd place holiday to Mother’s Day in my home growing up.   My Dad idolized my Mom and always got us involved in making Mother’s Day extra special.  He would get the 3 of us [me and my 2 brothers] involved in picking out and buying her gift.  There were always some great usual suspects for Mom:  Flowers or a little piece of jewelry were always Dad’s go to presents!

Father’s Day, however, was hard.  My dad is a very basic guy, doesn’t have a lot of hobbies or go-to leisure time activities.  He’s a no frills hard working welder and construction worker, although he’s retired now.  He didn’t ever dress up, so no ties for him.  He wore Old Spice and used Barbasol to shave.

We stopped buying him clothes because, he never made any distinction between “good clothes” and work clothes.  I remember one year, we bought him a new dress shirt and corduroy pants for Father’s Day, he put them on before we were going to church and looked so nice.  Then 15 minutes later the car made a weird noise so he got on the ground and crawled under it and got the new outfit filthy.  I was so pissed!  LOL, but that’s my Dad.

This Week’s POP! Is Dedicated To All The Dads’ Out There

We’ve got some great ideas for Father’s Day that are great – even for a No Frills kind of Dad like mine!  Regardless if he’s a hard worker or just likes to work out hard, he’ll be sure to love some of the body care items that we’ve got that will surely alleviate some of his muscle aches and pains.  Regardless of how truly “no-frills” any Dad can be, they need to shave and protect themselves against skin cancer, so they’ll appreciate the skincare products that we’re including!
