Statement of Purpose + Mission

Lipgloss + Aftershave History
Lipgloss + Aftershave was founded by Barry Eichner + Jenni Nagle to be a destination for beauty industry professionals. Our goal was to create a platform that would provide high quality content for the beauty pro who was looking to grow personally and professionally.

Our Core Beliefs Formed Our Vision + Voice
Initially, our own inner voice and values of:  love, hard work, equality, kindness, integrity, inclusiveness and a little sass instinctively guided us to select the trends and topics that we would focus on for Lipgloss + Aftershave’s overall brand presence.

The same values opened us up to some of the most incredible people as we traveled the country meeting, literally thousands of beauty professionals from all walks of life, sexual orientations / identities, backgrounds, races and faiths.

We’ve Listened
We’ve always had our ear to ground. We’ve listened to find out what was trending.  We’ve been open to, and accepted feedback and constructive criticism.  We’ve accepted input on editorial features.  We’ve taken suggestions on how to improve and grow.  We’ve welcomed input on what we talked about.

What We Heard
There was a richness in the collective voice of the many people we saw on the beauty industry’s landscape.  We wanted our voice to be a vibrant representation of the voices that we’d been listening to as we went about our business.  As Lipgloss + Aftershave began to grow and take shape, we began selecting professionals to work with at events, on projects and as freelance writers.  We made a concerted effort to ensure our voice was inclusive of a vibrant representation of the voices we had been listening to since the beginning.

Why A Trends + Topics Advisory Committee?
We are forming the Trends + Topics Advisory Committee as a way to formalize our commitment to listening to the voices of beauty professionals so that we can continue to provide rich, dynamic, engaging, relevant, informative content that everyone will love.  We will remain committed to giving everyone a voice by providing a place at our table for all beauty professionals from all walks of life, sexual orientation / identity, background, races and faiths.

What Will The Trends + Topics Advisory Committee Do?
This committee will provide input on a quarterly basis and have the opportunity to complete a Quarterly Trends + Topics Questionnaire.  This will be their opportunity to ensure that they can contribute to the voice of Lipgloss + Aftershave, by offering their input to the beauty industry from their perspective.

We will also call on the members of the Trends + Topics Advisory Committee on an as needed basis to hear their perspectives on projects on which we are working.  We also ask that the members of the Trends + Topics Advisory Committee bring to us any questions, comments, concerns and feedback about our content so that we can take a closer look from a more universal perspective.

Monique Waters

Monique Waters is a rising star in the Southern Florida business scene largely because of her irreverence for convention.  Never one to follow the pack, Monique has paved her way to success by taking the road less traveled.  While others rest on their laurels, Monique continues to blaze a trail, breaking through barriers with innovation and creativity.  Her drive is evidenced by her ownership of three businesses.  Simply put, Monique never stops.

Monique’s journey began when she went on to earn an undergraduate degree in Pre-Physical Therapy and a Master of Public Health Education at the prestigious Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University.  After graduation, she relished her role as a community health director for the American Heart Association, one of the country’s most prominent nonprofit organizations, but knew she wanted a different scenery.

Her intellectual curiosity combined with her strong work ethic as a student set the stage for professional success in the business realm.  Monique shifted from the classroom to the workforce, then on to starting her own company, Wax Unique.  She is the CEO and Owner of Wax Unique and the CEO and Lead Educator at WU Aesthetics & Academy. Monique’s other business ventures includes WU Body, a workout essentials company that provides daily workouts using her renowned, resistance bands.

Her sister company, WU Aesthetics has emerged as a pioneer in the beauty industry.   Under Monique’s leadership, this enterprise brings breakthrough aesthetic treatments and products to the market.  Monique’s creativity is the driving force behind WU Aesthetics’ popular ingrown hair serum known as the ingrown killer.  WU Aesthetics is also revered for its luxury film wax, Emerald Gold and industry-best pre and post wax oils.

Monique’s overarching goal is to surpass client expectations and continuous ways to keep her spa equipped with innovative treatments and services.  A self-starter in every sense of the word, she takes pride in serving the local Stuart community, creating jobs, and stimulating the economy.  Monique also spends time teaching continuing education unit approved courses in Florida and serving as the south Florida DermaplanePro trainer.

Meet with Monique to discuss her aesthetic services or a potential business relationship and you will find she is as personable as it gets.  Her hope is that her optimism, passion, and work ethic prove contagious, ultimately benefitting the greater good of Stuart as well as the human condition.

Whether you are looking for aesthetic treatments or interested in establishing a mutually beneficial connection with a rising business star in Southern Florida, you will enjoy the time you spend with Monique.
