Thought Leaders of Modern Skincare – Jeremy Soine

Jeremy Soine Has Helped Build One of Skincare’s Biggest Professional Brands. He’d Rather Talk About the People.

There are skincare executives who can talk growth strategy, market share, product development, and scale until everyone at the dinner table suddenly remembers they have an early morning.

Then there is Jeremy Soine.

Yes, Jeremy is CEO of Face Reality Skincare. Since joining the company in 2020, he has helped lead Face Reality into more than 10,000 professional accounts, following an executive career that included Rodan + Fields and nearly two decades in food and beverage.

But spend a little time talking with Jeremy and something becomes obvious.

Professional Acne Skincare Jeremy Soine

He keeps bringing the conversation back to people.

The clients struggling with acne. The Acne Experts helping them. The corporate team supporting those professionals. The estheticians building businesses. Even when we asked him about revenue and growth, he quickly redirected the conversation toward whether Acne Experts are getting clients clear, whether clients are thrilled with their results, and whether professionals are building profitable businesses.

That perspective is one of the reasons L+A is naming Jeremy Soine a Thought Leader of Modern Skincare.

We sat down with him to talk about the future of professional acne skincare, leadership, the changing relationship between clients and skincare professionals, and why Face Reality’s next chapter may extend well beyond getting clients clear.

For Jeremy Soine, Acne Has Always Been Personal

L+A: What originally drew you into the skincare and aesthetics industry?

Jeremy Soine: “As somebody who experienced acne growing up, and has been the parent of kids with acne, acne has been very personal for me. Face Reality has allowed me to make a difference, both in the lives of the clients who use Face Reality products, and also the incredible professionals that I’ve been so fortunate to get to work with.”

That word, people, appears again and again throughout our conversation.

When we asked Jeremy whether there was a specific moment when he realized he was building something meaningful, he did not mention a sales milestone or expansion target.

He talked about Slack.

The Friday Slack Post That Reminds Him Why They Do It

Jeremy: “One of my favorites is the weekly Slack post from Joy, who is on our Acne Expert Success Team. Most Fridays she shares a success story from one of our Acne Experts. And immediately following, there is essentially a standing ovation that celebrates the success of that Acne Expert with their client.”

The Acne Experts may never see that internal celebration, but Jeremy does.

“It’s a weekly reminder of why we do what we do, and it never gets old.”

It also says quite a bit about his philosophy of leadership.

L+A actually got an early glimpse of this culture years ago when we visited Face Reality and discovered its Acne Expert Success Team, a group specifically designed to support professionals with protocols, products, accounts, and professional development.

Turns out the name “Success Team” was not corporate fluff. They really meant it.

Professional Acne Skincare Has a Professional Problem

For all of the innovation happening in skincare, Jeremy believes one of the industry’s biggest opportunities is surprisingly basic.

More people need to see professionals.

L+A: What do you think is most misunderstood about the medical + spa skincare industry right now?

Jeremy: “There are too few people going to see a medical or skincare professional. I believe it’s less than 10%, and that’s way too low. Self-diagnosis in skincare is just not effective.”

For Jeremy, the future of professional acne skincare is not about competing with the latest viral product recommendation. It is about demonstrating why professional expertise matters in the first place.

That is particularly important with acne, where the client journey can involve far more than choosing a cleanser or scrolling until TikTok serves up the next miracle ingredient.

We have seen that firsthand through the professionals L+A has featured. Acne specialization can create a relationship in which the esthetician becomes an ongoing educator and trusted resource as a client’s needs change.

The Consultation Is Getting Bigger

Jeremy also believes professionals should be thinking beyond the client’s immediate skin concern.

“Clients are looking for holistic approaches, so take that approach!”

His advice is to use consultations and check-ins to understand what is happening beyond the treatment room. Medications, nutrition, allergies, fitness goals, mental health and broader wellness factors can all become part of understanding the individual sitting in front of you.

In other words, the future client consultation probably needs to be a little less “What cleanser are you using?” and a lot more “Tell me what is actually going on.”

Trust Is Built in the Small Stuff

L+A: What makes a skincare brand truly trustworthy today?

Jeremy does not believe there is a magic formula.

Instead, he describes trust as the cumulative result of “lots of little things every single day.”

Integrity. Doing what you say you are going to do. Listening to customers. Making common-sense decisions based on their needs.

For Face Reality, that means listening to Acne Experts and continually adjusting the company to help those professionals become more successful.

That may not sound revolutionary.

Which is precisely why it feels refreshing.

From Clear Skin to What Comes Next

Perhaps the most interesting evolution happening at Face Reality right now is what happens after an acne client reaches clear skin.

Because clients do not suddenly stop caring about their skin when their acne improves.

They start asking different questions.

Enter Face Reality Age Adaptive Clearing Serum

Jeremy told L+A that one of the projects he is most excited about is Face Reality’s new Age Adaptive Clearing Serum, which he describes as “a game changer for post-clear clients who want to focus on age management.”

That launch represents an important evolution in professional acne skincare.

The relationship does not have to end at clear.

As clients move into new goals involving age management, texture, tone, and overall skin health, the professional who successfully guided them through acne already has something enormously valuable: trust.

We recently explored this exact opportunity in our look at the post-clear acne client journey. Once professionals earn that relationship through results, education, and consistency, they are uniquely positioned to guide what comes next.

Age Adaptive Serum gives Face Reality Acne Experts another tool for that next chapter.

And that chapter could be long.

Jeremy Thinks the Occasional Facial Is Going Away

Jeremy’s vision for the next three to five years may be one of the most important ideas from our conversation.

The old model looks something like this:

I occasionally book an appointment with my esthetician.

The future, according to Jeremy, looks very different.

Clients will increasingly see their skincare professional monthly and discuss the next stage of a multi-year strategy built around their individual skin, health, and wellness goals.

“They help me plan based on me as an individual, considering my overall health and wellness goals. I’ve made lots of progress and look forward to years of results.”

His prediction for professionals who successfully make that transition?

“Wild success.”

We tend to agree.

It also explains why education remains so central to modern professional acne skincare. Professionals are no longer simply delivering treatments. They are becoming long-term skin strategists.

The Face Reality Clear Skin Method® offers an example of that evolution, combining professional treatments, customized home care, and lifestyle guidance within an adaptive approach to acne care.

The CEO Who Still Gets Skincare Lessons From the Estheticians

One of our favorite Jeremy answers had nothing to do with strategy.

We asked what he wished he had known earlier.

His answer?

Product layering.

Apparently, Face Reality Research Esthetician Brooke recently corrected his assumption about applying hydrating products before actives.

“This is kind of a silly, simple example, but it highlights something I’ve come to love about the Esthetician community: the constant focus on learning and helping others.”

A CEO willing to admit an esthetician taught him how to layer his skincare?

We support this energy.

More importantly, it reinforces something Jeremy seems to genuinely believe: expertise does not exclusively flow from the top down.

His Definition of Success Is Surprisingly Simple

When we asked Jeremy how he defines success at this point in his career, his answer was not complicated.

“Making a difference with the people that I’m working with, both our internal people and our Acne Experts, where I can be a part of enabling their success.”

That answer may tell you more about Jeremy Soine than any revenue number ever could.

Face Reality has grown dramatically. The company continues investing in clinical studies, product development, education, operations, and the professionals who represent the brand in treatment rooms across the country.

But Jeremy’s personal scorecard appears remarkably human.

Are the professionals winning?

Are their clients getting results?

Is his team growing?

Are they building something they can be proud of?

That people-first approach may also be exactly what professional acne skincare needs as the industry becomes larger, more sophisticated, and increasingly connected to the broader medical + spa aesthetics ecosystem.

Because skincare will continue changing.

Technology will change. Ingredients will change. Treatment plans will change. Client expectations will absolutely change.

Jeremy hopes one thing doesn’t.

“The people who care deeply about their clients.”

For a global skincare leader thinking about what comes next, that is a refreshingly grounded place to start.
