Meet Teresa L. Clemens
Teresa is a Skin Stylist, Licensed Medical Aesthetician, Skincare Educator/Trainer.
Teresa has been a Licensed Esthetician in California, since 2015. Teresa owns a solo practice as part of Walnut Creek Aesthetics.
After earning her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Communication Studies with a Minor in Marketing, Teresa started her career in the fashion industry as a fashion stylist for both corporate and personal accounts, taking on local and global jaunts for 25+ years. This included trips to the United Kingdom for Style Zone TV, IMG’s Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week, and on local trips throughout the Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area, for several roles with Nordstrom and Macy’s as a corporate stylist.
Teresa later joined the Estee Lauder Companies and Dr. Perricone, where she assisted as a skin care specialist for their corporate beauty trends shows, all across California. With such passion for skincare, Teresa became a Licensed Medical Aesthetician in 2015 and took her career from the corporate room to the treatment room.
Her long-term goal was to combine her various talents in the image business, to provide her clients the benefit of her diverse and rich experience. Blended with her overall passion for helping others look and feel their best, as a Medical Aesthetician/Skin Care Educator/Trainer at Walnut Creek Aesthetics for the past nine years and BioSkin Aesthetics for the past two years.
After earning many industry awards for Aesthetician of the Year and Med Spa of the Year in the East Bay Area region for several years running, Teresa continues to enjoy educating and training her peers and patients alike. “I absolutely work with my medical providers to refer patients back and forth for treatments.
The patients typically start with me providing them with a complimentary consultation. I assess their skin, ask what their chief concerns are with their skin, what they’d like to see change, and what products they’re currently using on their skin at home. Typically, the chief concerns are redness/rosacea, acne/scarring, pigment issues, and fine lines/wrinkles.
I then sample them on products I’d like them to try, to see how well their skin responds and make sure they have no adverse effects. Medical Grade Skincare is essential as our daily home care is 75-80% of our skin health. I recommend keeping our skin care routines simple, effective, and affordable by using a skin type appropriate gentle cleanser, Vitamin C serum, spf moisturizer for our AM routine. A gentle, exfoliating cleanser, retinol, or cellular turnover serum, and night repair creme for PM.
I then recommend a proper treatment plan, starting with the least invasive of a 4-6 treatment BioRePeelCl3® + Combo Therapy treatment series, to prep their skin from the inside out, with no downtime.
Once my portion of their least invasive series is completed, they continue their series with one of our excellent laser/injectable nurses. They’ll consult them on the proper, deeper invasive Laser Series of an IPL or Laser Facial, Morpheus8, PRP, etc. Final results are even better because the lasers don’t have to fight through all the dry, dead, old layers of skin, due to their skin being so well prepped prior. During our interview with Teresa, we asked her to tell us about the results that she’s able to achieve with the BioSkin Aesthetics products.
“From the consistent use of these game-changing products, I’ve truly been able to help heal and repair my client’s rosacea, from the inside out, without them needing to continue to use their Rx topical rosacea medications! Nothing on the Market has been close to achieving the same, as nothing can actually heal rosacea, until now! We can’t claim that medically, but I have incredible Before/Afters and my patients’ testimonies to prove otherwise!
Same for Acne, as not only do our products help pull up and purge trapped congestion from deep layers in the skin, patients stop breaking out altogether and if they do, it’s very minimal, with only a couple of pimples (usually hormonally, on the chin) vs. full breakouts. My acne patients come to me, frustrated, bc they’ve tried everything under the sun, their Dermatologist typically puts them on: Doxycycline AntiBiotics (which causes more internal inflammation by breaking down a healthy microbiome in the gut), Rx Retin-A or Rx Tretinoin, which works, but patients have to endure weeks, if not months, of skin shedding, red, itchy, dry and sensitive skin, so 99.9% of patients stop using it. And worst-case scenario, derms start them on Accutane, which is typically a last resort for acne patients, due to it shutting down the oil glands in the body. It’s effective, but there can be serious side effects/contraindications.
Hyperpigmentation anyone? It’s literally one of the top three chief concerns for patients worldwide and with our patients. I’ve been able to lighten and brighten it with BioRePeeCl3® Blue/Gold combos initially, and now with our Lucente® Brightening Solution therapy, it not only helps lighten and lift current excess pigment in the skin but literally helps prevent future pigment from overproducing in the first place.
