Aysia Low – From High School Graduate to Spectrum Alumna
For Aysia, esthetics wasn’t just a passing interest—it was a calling that came early.
“I attended Spectrum in 2020, two weeks after I graduated high school and completed their standard and advanced esthetician programs,” she shares.
Think about that: most teenagers are figuring out what’s next, but Aysia dove headfirst into her passion for skincare. Within months, she was licensed as both an Esthetician and Certified Advanced Aesthetician, credentials that positioned her for immediate success in a competitive industry.
Fast forward five years, and she’s not only thriving as a professional but has returned to Spectrum Advanced Aesthetics as a Clinical Master and Advanced Instructor, Social Media Manager, and Laser Safety Officer. Talk about a full-circle moment.

Teaching with Heart
When you ask Aysia Low what she loves most about her job, she doesn’t hesitate:
“My favorite part of the job is seeing my students succeed or when they have the light bulb moment and everything clicks!”
That spark—that moment when a student suddenly connects the dots—is where her passion comes alive. It’s a reminder that esthetics education isn’t just about technique; it’s about confidence, empowerment, and growth.
Favorite Modalities to Teach
Aysia thrives on modalities that blend precision with impact.
“My favorite modalities to teach are HydraFacial and tattoo removal because I love treatments that provide instant gratification and involve intricate detail.”
These advanced treatments allow students to master professional skincare career training in ways that build both skill and confidence.
Building Long-Term Client Success
One of the hallmarks of Spectrum’s approach—and a central theme in Aysia’s teaching—is the importance of long-term treatment planning.
“I focus on teaching estheticians the importance of education and how to create and offer clients curated, long-term treatment plans, providing clear solutions so there’s no confusion and ensuring sustainable results while building trust and loyalty.”
She also emphasizes that it all starts at the very beginning with consultation.
“I teach my students that the initial consultation is the key player in setting clients up for success. It should never be missed—it’s a deal breaker. I emphasize the 80/20 rule: 80% of results come from at-home skincare, lifestyle changes, and consistency, while 20% comes from in-office treatments. It’s also about educating the client and setting realistic expectations so clients fully understand their journey and what it will take to achieve their desired results.”
Home Care as a Cornerstone
Spectrum ensures that its students understand the value of retail and home care in client outcomes.
“Yes, during our consultations, we place a strong emphasis on the importance of home care recommendations. At Spectrum, we have our own store stocked with 6+ professional skincare brands, which allows students to gain hands-on experience retailing and curating personalized product regimens for clients. This not only reinforces the value of home care but also teaches students how to support long-term results beyond the treatment room.”
For Aysia, this is a cornerstone of future esthetician success—helping professionals build lasting results for clients while supporting business growth.
The Spectrum Culture: Like Family
If you’ve ever been inside Spectrum Advanced Aesthetics, you know the energy is special. For Aysia, it’s more than just a school—it’s a family.
“The culture for students at Spectrum feels like a family. We support, encourage, and learn from one another, creating a positive environment where students feel safe to grow, make mistakes, and celebrate their successes together.”
Inclusion and Diversity in Esthetics
Aysia is passionate about ensuring her students are prepared to treat all skin types and ethnicities safely and effectively.
“It’s absolutely essential for future estheticians to understand how to treat skin of all ethnicities. Every client deserves safe, effective care, and by learning how skin differs across tones and types, estheticians can avoid harm, build trust, and deliver results that truly meet individual needs. This knowledge not only elevates their professionalism but also makes them more inclusive providers in an increasingly diverse industry.”
Challenges in the Industry—and How Spectrum Helps
“One of the biggest challenges I see new estheticians facing is adjusting to the dynamics of the spa they join. Another challenge is the lack of proper training; new estheticians need time, guidance, and continued education to feel confident in their skills, and that’s something that should be reinforced more in our industry.”
Spectrum helps bridge that gap by offering a comprehensive esthetics education program filled with ongoing mentorship, guest speakers, and free online training opportunities.
The Tools for Success
“The most important tools advanced estheticians need to succeed are adaptability, professionalism, and eagerness to learn. This industry is always evolving, so being open to new opportunities, staying curious, and maintaining strong communication skills paired with a genuine passion for client care are what set them apart and help build lasting success.”
Where Esthetics is Headed
“The esthetics industry in the U.S. is growing rapidly, with more access than ever to skincare products and information through influencers and social media. While this has increased interest in skincare, it also highlights the need for professional guidance.”
In other words, the future belongs to educated estheticians trained at schools like Spectrum, who can deliver safe, effective, and personalized care in an era of overwhelming online advice.
Advice for Future Spectrum Students
“I would say take the leap and do it. I started at Spectrum just two weeks after graduating high school and immediately knew the industry was for me. Fast forward five years, and I’m proud to be both an alumna and a teacher here. Spectrum gives you the tools, education, and support to turn your passion for skincare into a successful career.”
Final Thoughts
At just a few years into her career, Aysia Low is already shaping the next generation of estheticians. Her journey—from eager student to inspiring instructor—illustrates the incredible opportunities available in this field when passion meets education.
For Spectrum Advanced Aesthetics, she’s not just an alumna—she’s proof of their mission in action. For her students, she’s a mentor who sees their potential before they see it themselves.
